Spring Walleye Fishing
Spring is without a doubt one of the best times to catch trophy walleye. As soon as the ice goes out, the walleye are biting. Centrally located in Green Bay, we are willing to travel to find the best spring walleye bite from the Fox River, north to the Menoninee River, across the bay to Sturgeon Bay and everywhere in between. Casting is the preferred way to catch these fish and this bite will usually last until June when the Alewives begin to spawn.
Night trips will also be available in the spring. Contact directly to set up a night trip.
If you don't wish to hire a guide, but would like a little guidance, click on the WAYPOINTS link above. I’ll give you several waypoints in the area (for that time of year) that you're looking to fish, specific baits/colors I like to use in those areas, and other tips and tricks to put more fish in your boat.
Summer Walleye Fishing
Summer walleyes are usually in full swing starting in early to mid July. These fish can be found in big schools relating to weeds, offshore reefs and mud flats. Casting and trolling can often produce limit catches and can be the best time to take home a great meal of fish.
Trophy Walleye trips will also be available in the Door County area on a limited basis. This is a special time of year and they don't call it “Hogust” for no reason. Trophy walleyes from 25-30 inches are the target in these waters and can be caught both casting and trolling. Our boat policy is to release any walleye over 24 inches, so these trips will be primarily catch and release. Contact me directly for these trips.
